Best Buy's management and policies are corrupt
Best buy does not do ethics checks on their management,
Also, as a former employee, I know that when getting geek squad services not everyone pays the same price for the same service. They can tell you anything they want about your computer in order to sell services. They lie when selling their "Black tie protection" and tell you it covers everything, and any damage. In reality it covers a small portions of unlikely things like power surges. (if your electronics get struck by lightening, you're covered, However if you drop it you're screwed) They treat employees poorly, and haze new employees. New employees have to do embarrassing acts at their first meeting, it's quite belittling.
My Husband is also a victim, He worked on geek squad for three years, he got a new manager who immediately began looking for was to terminate his employment. After 2 months he succeeded with no reason except "poor performance". My Husband had the highest customer satisfaction scores on his Geek squad team, and was hired by another computer and repair retail store two days after he left because of his outstanding resume and great educational background.
I was fired from Best buy while I was pregnant, I was given tasks not suitable for a pregnant women like carrying large heavy boxes from shipments, I pulled a muscle in my back and could not work for 2 days. A week later I was in the ER with pregnancy complications, the next day I was fired. Pregnancy is a temporary disability, and i was discriminated against because of my disability.
We the Undersigned see that certain policies in Best Buy stores need to change.
The management in the stores is in sever need of regular ethics checks.
Employees are not treated well by unchecked managers. We feel that if a manager dislikes an employee he/she can too easily get rid of an employee without higher management seeing their Bias.
Also managers ethics in the area of customer service are lacking, Two people can come to the same manager with the same problem and be treated differently based on a managers bias.
Best buy is losing the support and patronage of its communities by treating customers and employees poorly.
We would like Best buy stores to act knowing that your employees are also your customers, your employees are active in your communities and if they continue to be treated poorly the communities will patronize other businesses instead.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read our letter, and for the sake of Best buy stores, its employees, its customers and the surrounding communities we again ask you to do thorough ethics checks regularly in management.
