Give New Mexico's two death row inmates clemency!

It's really simple, Governor. The Legislature passed a law doing away with the death penalty in your state and you signed it. It recently took effect on a specific date and you are now using that specific date as an excuse not to give the two remaining people on death row clemency. Setting a specific date for new legislation to take effect is the usual way to pass legislation and does not carry with it any intent toward what actions do not take place before the effective date. You have always had the authority to give pardon or clemency to prisoners in New Mexico - Use it! Those who opposed getting rid of the death penalty will not like you any better or less for standing by your signature outlawing the death penalty in New Mexico!
