IMPROVE 911 and SAVE Lives!

- I am starting this petition because I want to believe in our justice system and the manner in which is is operated.
This is for Denise Amber Lee and all the loved ones who have endured a painful and tragic loss.
On January 17, 2008, a beautiful wife and mother of two young sons, was abducted from her home and brutally raped and murdered. Several 911 calls went out in an attempt to save her life in the preceding hours--including a frantic call from Denise herself. How brave she was.
Another particular call came from Jane Kowalski, who saw Denise in the back of her abductor's car, screaming out for help. This witness was on the same exact street at the very time nearby police officers were patrolling that area. Ms. kowalski called 911 and gave all the information she had and her exact location, but sadly the 911 dispatch was never sent out to the patrolling police officers. If the emergncy call had been properly dispatched, they may have been able to intervene and save Denise's life with that critical window of time.
I recently learned that 911 training is administered on a volunteer only basis. I find this EXTREMELY odd, considering the fact that high stress situations are constantly called into 911 and that many lives are at stake on a daily basis with emergency situations. It would only make sense to have the BEST possible trainging and protocol in order for such situations to be properly dealt with.
I KNOW that there are alot of good 911 operators out there who make a difference everyday, and as the public, we want to ensure that they are capable to the BEST of their ability, so that another tragedy like Denise's will be prevented in the future. We all deserve the comfort of knowing that our efforts to prevent a tragedy like this will NOT go in vain.
PLEASE help to IMPORVE 911, by supporting this cause and signing this petition to make proper 911 training mandatory for ALL 911 Operators. It could be YOUR loved one making a critical 911 call someday!
