Minnesota Tint Laws
MINNESOTA STATE STATUTE 169.71 - Window tinting law.
Minnesota Statute allows - Trucks, SUV's, cross over SUV's, Van's and
Wagons to have all windows behind the driver to have a factory
dark tint or 20% of VLT (Visible Light Transmitted).
The higher the number, the lighter the color appears.
Minneosta passenger vehicles (cars) are only allowed 50% on all windows.
All surrounding States ( ND, SD, IA, WI allow 20% VLT or any darkness of tinting on rear windows of passenger cars. If you purchase a passenger car from these states you must remove the tinting if registered in Minnesota.

Minnesota is the only state that limits the visible light transmitted at 50% for passenger cars side and rear windows.
All Minnesota Drivers & Passengers of cars, should have the same right to protect their vehicles as do the Trucks & SUV's.
