NO GMO - PROTECT FREEDOM OF LIFE

Corporations believe they can own the genetic blueprints that define Life itself. Biotechnology companies have launched a race amongst themselves to patent and possess that which defines plants, animals, our DNA. Life must be recognized as belonging to no person or corporation. It belongs to all of us that share this planet.
We must tell our government representatives:
No one owns life. Therefore there can be no law that protects an individual or corporation's claim that they own any genetic blueprints to life whether natural or artificially created.
Further, there can be no adequate environmental safeguards for genetically engineered organisms capable of reproducing. Life always finds a way. There can neither be any scientific analysis sufficient to guarantee that any genetically engineered organism cannot or will not cause future harm to the ecosystem.
We therefore must also respectfully demand:
Legislation that rescinds any claim by any person or corporation to the genetic blueprints of any living organism.
Legislation that prohibits the creation of any living organism capable of reproducing itself by artificially combining DNA material in any manner that does not occur naturally.
