Not feeding the feral cats in not only inhumane but CRUEL

After 10 years of a successful TNR program, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida now wishes that the caretakers stop feeding the feral cats. Almost 90% of the feral in these colonies have been spayed/neutered/vaccinated mostly through personal funds of the caretakers.  Some colonies have been maintained by their caretakers for many years.  The caretakers have been threatened and intimidation tactics are being used to force the feeding of these colonies to stop.  The best of all worlds is to allow these colonies to stay where they are and allow the caretakers and rescue groups involved to continue to support these colonies through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR).  TNR is a proven method in controlling feral cat colonies.  Please tell the City of Sunny Isles Beach, that not feeding the cats is not only cruel but inhumane.

We the undersigned believe it is inhumane and cruel to stop feeding the feral cats in your community. You wish for the caretakers to continue to spay/neuter/vaccinate them and not feed them! In order for the TNR program to work you must monitor the colonies. If you stop feed the cats they will be come visible to the public as they look for food.
