We acknowledge that conditions are declining faster than most governments' ability to respond and admit that the odds are against us.
Nonetheless, we commit to making radical changes in our personal way of living, to educating our local communities of what must be done now, and to demanding change on local, state, and federal levels.
We know the time is short. We must act now.
We must dramatically reduce the energy and resources that we consume.
We must reuse as much of everything that we purchase.
We must recycle what we can't reuse.
We must compost all food waste.
But, above all else, we realize we must reduce, reduce, reduce. It is the first and most important step to the survival of this planet and of our species.
We acknowledge the dire state of environmental conditions and non-violently demand that our corporations and our governments take immediate action to halt the consumption of fossil fuels and the development of more fossil fuels, to reduce the consumption of all resources, and to radically reduce the production of consumer goods. We demand that our corporations and governments pour funds into developing alternative, renewable forms of energy.
We acknowledge the national security threat that climate change poses to our nation and demand that our government begin implementing plans now to ensure the survival of our nation and its people.
We must take action ourselves and demand action from our government. The crisis is upon us. We must act now.
