PLANNED MOVE OF THE LIVING ROOM TO THE SOUTH END Keep DRUGGIES out of our KIDS Neighborhood!
We do not want the Living Room program in the South End , as they have tried 3 times and failed, and now want to bring it to a community that is just starting to rebuild, and this will put us back once again. If they want this Living Room Program so bad why don't these counsel members put it in their backyards, and lets see how long they allow it to remain. We the people of the South End are tried of being their Dumping Grounds!!!!Here are a number of reasons that we do not want the Living Room in the South End.#1. the playground that we are working on, that is less then a block away for the Children of the future that live in the South End will be destroied.#2. There is not a Business in the South End that wants the Living Room in the South End.#3. While they were at 135 Nicole Street they promised the neighbourhood they would pick up the garbage their clients left behind, the problem was it ended up being the business owners as well as a few of the residents that cleaned up the garbage. Then they moved to 55 Victoria, again the same promisses were made and again it was the business owners and residents that cleaned up the garbage. They are presently at the New Hope Centre and once again it is the business owners and residents cleaning up behind them.#4. Where ever they go the drug dealers and prostitues seem to multiply and start hanging around in the doorway to the business and using the property of the business's as a outdoor washroom and leave all their needles laying around as well as their garbage for the business owners to clean up when they come to work in the morning.#5. Think of the people that presently live in the Hotel and they DO NOT WANT it as that effects their homes. They clearly stated at the meeting on July 2nd, that they were going to renevate all 20 units so that each unit would have it's own bathroom, so as far as I can see this will cut the 20 units that are there down to around 10 units as some of the rooms are to small to have their own bathrooms. They clearly stated at the meeting that they will use the rooms as they become available for people that are addicted to drugs or have mental health issues, to help them clean up.
SAY NO TO DRUGSAND NO TO THE LIVING ROOM PROGRAMthink of the children of the future that live in the area.
