REVAMP THE NON-SMOKER PROTECTION ACT

  • av: Kris Long
  • mottagare: State of Tennesee. Governers Office

This is a petition to revamp the new law in TN that went into effect on OCT 1st.  I do agree that most places should be smoke free, such as ALL Gov. and public office buildings,  FAMILY oriented restaraunts, and any where else where a LARGE group of people who would not normally be together gather...

But for the bar/club industry, the law should be revamped....GRANTED...u have to be 21 to drink alcohol, but you only have to be 18 to purchase cigarettes, and you have to be 18 to die for your country, and u have to be 18 to view pornographic material....Venues that feature LIVE music, Dancing, Adult Entertainment are suffering because MOST OF THEIR PATRONS SMOKE, so instead of being inside and enjoying the entertainment, they are outside smoking.

If we are allowed to make adult desicions, and have adult responsibilities, when we are 18, then we should be able to allow 18-20 year old patrons into the businesses they CHOOSE to go to. And if u raise the age to buy cigarettes to 21, then u should raise the age to serve the military to 21 as well, because if 18 year olds arent responsible enough to drink or smoke, then what makes u think they are responsible enough to GO TO WAR, and FIRE MACHINE GUNS, AND KILL OTHER HUMAN BEINGS.....

WE THE UNDERSIGNED, would like to see the NON-SMOKER PREVENTION ACT revamped to allow smoking in such venues that feature live music, dancing, or adult entertainment, and only restrict them to 18 and up...because the legal smoking age is 18 and as adults, 18 year olds make the desicion to go to these places, as well as the desicion to smoke...
