Sale of personal items in storages

Would you like to get your personal papers and family pictures out of storage upon sell of it. Such as Birth Certicates, IRS income tax filing papers, Social Security cards and any other papers needed because of all of the thief of identity in the world today. They we can not get these papers because we have no right because we lost the storage..But I think I do have a right to these things they bought the property but what happens to my personal papers and social security cards of my childrens..How do I know if they will tear them up..I don't know them like they don't know me...I think I should be able to get them out if nothing else..
