Dear Lawmakers,
"Chicago Youth Killings Have Reached Crisis Level" is a headline that has found its way outside of the State of Illinois. While local newspapers and television stations have reported these crimes on a daily basis for years, the world is now taking notes of these horrific numbers and your actions to change these trending stats. We come to you United under a common cause, Stop Chicago Youth Killings and Stop USA Youth Killings.
While we believe that one child's life should have been reason enough to raise awareness for sweeping change in the protection of our children, we are encouraged to find that the world is watching your actions with regard to the safety and well being of our Children.
We will not boggle you down with long words or trending Statistics, the newspaper clippings below and hundreds of other mass media venues will do that for us. What is most important is that you act now and not around election time, because your actions will help us determine how we vote.
We need our Children to be educated.
We need our Children to become generation Leaders.
We need our Children to become Presidents, Doctors, Lawyers, Politicians.
We need our Children to hold and comfort and love.
We need our Children to make their 1st, 3rd, 16th and 18th birthdays.
We need our Children to know that WE WILL NOT TURN OUR BACKS ON THEM.
We hear the cries from the graves of Children gone to soon, asking us to remind the world not to forget that they died to soon.
