Traffic signal installation at the intersection of Waxpool Road and Waxpool Road Center Entrance
We, the undersigned, are concerned patrons of the businesses located on Waxpool Road between 44610 %u2013 44650 and/or local citizens who urge the Commonwealth of Virginia%u2019s Department of Transportation to install a traffic signal at the intersection of Waxpool Road and the Waxpool Road Center Entrance. We understand that a signal warrant analysis was commissioned by Iceberg Ventures, LLC and was completed and submitted on June 20, 2008 to VDOT for review. Under Warrant 2 of the MUTCD warrants, it revealed adequate thresholds to satisfy the installation of a traffic signal. On July 11, 2008, a letter was drafted/sent out rejecting the installation of a traffic light mentioning %u201CThe signal warrant study showing the need for a traffic signal at the intersection of Waxpool Road and Waxpool Road Center Entrance is very weak%u201D. We strongly disagree with VDOT%u2019s assessment. Entering and exiting the businesses has become very dangerous, due to the increased traffic, on Waxpool Road. We urge VDOT, for OUR SAFETY, to install a traffic light at the aforementioned intersection.
For over a year, Ashburn Restaurant Park has been trying to get a traffic light approved at the intersection of Waxpool Road and Waxpool Road Center Entrance. We have commissioned a traffic study and submitted it to VDOT for consideration. Unfotunately, VDOT does not believe there is enough traffic to warrant a traffic signal. We strongly disagree! The utmost concer we have is for your safety when enterning/exiting the property. Please sign the petition so we can show VDOT there is a massive concern for for your and your fellow citizen's safety. Thank you.
