Urge the Obamas to adopt from a Rescue!!
President Elect Obama has promised to get his family a puppy. I'd like to ask everyone to join me in asking him to adopt a puppy from a rescue. Yes, as the President he could get his puppy anywhere, but rescue dogs need our help more than most. He can send a message to the nation and the world that rescue animals deserve our love and compassion as much as 'pure' puppies do.

While it is admirable of you to adopt a pet into your family, please consider adopting from a rescue. There are thousands of puppies in desperate need of a home. Each year in the US, millions of dogs, cats and other animals are killed because no one wants them, all the while puppy mills and breeders continue to push so-called 'pure breeds'. Please, help send a message that ALL creatures deserve love and compassion, not just those with papers.
