Women's US Soccer National Team Deserves Equal Pay!

There are a few things that make me different from other United States Women's National Team fans. My name is Kamyar Saririan, and I am a 14-year-old male ice hockey player. As I sat down to watch the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, I started to wonder how much the USWNT gets paid compared to the USMNT. The answer appalled me.

According to Sporting News, the USWNT earns 38 percent of what their male counterparts make. If each team played and won 20 exhibition games in a year, female WNT players would earn a maximum of $99,000 or $4,950 per game, while similarly situated male MNT players would earn an average of $263,320 or $13,166 per game." The U.S. women's team stands as one of the best soccer teams in history. In comparison, the men's national team has never won a World Cup and failed even to qualify for the 2018 tournament.

This left me outraged, and frankly, offended. So I took it upon myself to make change happen. We need to show the world that it is time for men and women to be treated equally. With your signatures, we can make equal pay for the United States Women's National Team a reality.
