Demand Justice for Murdered Afghan

Three Navy seals have literally gotten away with murder. While deployed in Afghanistan, they allegedly beat several detainees brutally and one died from his injuries. According to witnesses in the US military, these Seals kicked the detainees, stepped on their heads, dropped heavy rocks on them, and employed a variation of waterboarding. The incident was reported, but the men were investigated in closed proceedings that treated their behavior like a misdemeanor. Please join with me in calling on Department of Defense Secretary Carter to investigate why this abuse was not subject to court martial and calling on the Navy's Judge Advocate General Vice Admiral James W. Crawford III to re-open the case.

Dear Vice Admiral James W. Crawford III:

We the undersigned are appalled to learn of the death of an Afghan who was allegedly detained, tortured, and killed by three Navy Seasl. It appears that these Seals kicked and stoned and waterboarded several detainees in the presence of military witnesses who have reported their behavior. One of the detainees died of his injuries. We believe this crime should have been fully prosecuted. Instead, it appears to have been covered up or, at best, treated as a misdemeanor. Please reopen this case and investigate why this case did not result in a court martial.
