Stop Cyber Bullying in the Fandom!

This petition was created to get rid of one particular person on Fanfiction.net (from here forth, FFnet) due to the abuse and harassment she inflicted on others through cyber bullying. The hope was that not only would this person be removed and banned, but that FFnet would open their eyes to the issue at hand and really take charge to erraticate the cyber bullying taking place on their site as well. Recently a deal has been worked out between the person and the people she was harassing. While that is fine and good and works for them, it certainly does not take care of the whole issue: CYBER BULLYING. It MUST stop. Too many times has it happened only for FFnet to sit back and do nothing.

It's time for FFnet to stand behind their writers and readers, NOT the bullies that they stand by all because these people help them get rid of people who break the terms of service.

We the undersigned wish to have Telp1223 removed and banned from Fanfiction.net (to be referred to as FFnet) as well as any other person who uses abusive langauge and threats while harassing any member of the site.

We understand that a lot of these people report members who break the terms of services (TOS hence forth) but that does NOT condone what they are doing. They are writing people emails and private messages and attacking them verbally.

Too many times have these bullies been reported to FFnet's abuse email address, only to have the report be ignored.

These vigilante's are going out of their way to try and get stories and authors removed from FFnet simply because they do not like the story. They are abusive, and it has to end.

Writers with very large fan bases are ready to leave FFnet all together if this does not end. We understand that this would be a very large hit to the income of FFnet.

FFnet needs to take responsibility for their own site and not rely on members with no authority to make sure writers are obeying the TOS. More often than not, these members that are reporting stories and authors are only reporting the story/author because the story does not fall into their definition of good taste. When the story does not get removed, the member then harasses the author to the point of abuse and essentially forces the author out.

If this is allowed to continue, FFnet will most assuredly lose more authors and - in turn - lose more revenue than if they were to police their own site and take the reports of harassment seriously.

We appreciate your time and attention in the matter and hope that changes can be made.
