DEMAND AN END TO SCHOOL SHOOTINGS

School shootings are an important and hard to discuss topic all across the world but recently, according to World population review.com, the U.S. has been struggling with School shootings the most. Which has caused millions around the world to fear for themselves, people they know, or their children when they go to what is supposed to be a safe place. According to Pew research.org more than half of the U.S. teens and children across the country are scared to go to school for fear that they will never get to see their family or friends again. As much as it scares the children it also scares the parents/guardians/caretakers/family members who also have to work or have their child go to school never knowing if they will hug their child, see their home or if that goodbye is the last thing that was said to their family. Many people want change but never know when that change will happen. Some students according to pbs.org have and already are starting to make change to school shootings to stop them once and for all,

This deeply affects the community because according to World Population Review.com so far on the date of April 24th 2023, 288 school shootings or attacks have taken place in America. More children are dying now more than ever due to gun violence and school shootings. Parents, Guardians, Family members, and community are terrified not knowing if their school will be the next to have one of these attacks and lose innocent staff and students based on someone else's actions. Education week.org talks to teachers on school shootings and some of the responses from teachers are as follows.“This is not the job we signed up to do.” As well as “The world feels less stable.” Are just a few of the comments teachers are saying about school shootings. According to Violence.Chop.Edu “It is difficult for most of us to understand how anyone-- regardless of their age, relationships, or grievance-- could shoot a child or youth, especially on school grounds.” Innocent children and teenagers do not deserve this. We need to protect schools or this will go nowhere and only get worse.
