The British Museum should return the Parthenon Marbles to Greece!

In 1801, Thomas Bruce, the Seventh Earl of Elgin, pried many sculptures off the Parthenon. These sculptures were carved and remained in Athens for 2,250 years as part of the Parthenon. During the Ottoman occupation, Lord Elgin bribed Turkish officials into letting him take some sculptures from the ground. He did this but also “removed” nearly half of the sculptures from the Parthenon causing it terrible damage.

Since it has gained its independence, Greece has requested the return of the marbles.  The Greeks say that the Ottomans lacked the moral authority to permit the marbles removal.
