Raising the minimum wage for tipped employees

There are many states who have enacted laws to raise the minimum wage for tipped employees, but North Carolina is one of 13 states that still choses to use the lowest rate allowed by the federal government

Tipped employees in the state of North Carolina are legally being paid a wage per hour, which places them well below the poverty line. This could be viewed as government sanctioned poverty.
