Because of the recent budget cut from the March votes,
over fifty Timberlane employees are going to lose their jobs. Our community will lose valuable people, experiences, and opportunities. I would like to save so much of the school and all of the dedicated teachers who make a difference, but I know that's not realistic.
Mr. and Mrs. Castano are two valuable people that have already deeply impacted the students and community. From expanding the Milkmen (the high school's nonprofit improv team) to raising awareness of mental health and the values of meditation, to empowering our freshmen to achieve greater academic and personal success, to just CARING and loving his job,
Mr. Castano is one of the most brilliant, compassionate, and determined educators Timberlane has had the pleasure of employing. This petition is to save his job and the job of his elementary school wife, who is also being cut due to the budget cut that we voted for. It is unacceptable, and cutting out teachers and electives is not the answer to budgeting, or to uniting our district as a community.
