When a life threatening task, such as simply crossing a road, has become a known danger for our citizens and families, it is our duty as a community to come together to do whatever is necessary to correct the issue. Every day that passes is another day that could potentially impact any of our lives in an extremely negative way. It is up to us to protect our own. This fear needs to end now.
We, the undersigned citizens of Amherst and neighboring counties, petition to have a traffic light installed at the intersection of Highway Route 29 and Highway Route 151 in Amherst County. The juncture of these roads is extremely dangerous and has negatively affected many, causing numerous accidents, major destruction of property, countless bodily injuries and just recently, another fatality.
Year after year calamitous accidents have been recorded. This must end. The clear and present danger represented by this intersection has been noted by all in the community.
To address this problem, we petition to have a traffic light installed at this location.
