A potential 67 acre, 8 megawatt solar farm in our community abutting residential areas. The buyer also has an option to purchase an additional 200+ acres after 190 days.
There was a rushed vote on 1/14/19 to permit a large scale solar farm on existing cranberry bogs on Bay Road. We need to convince the boards that we DO NOT want this in our community, effecting our HEALTH & WELLBEING!

Other communities voted against much smaller solar projects due to related concerns: PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE, QUALITY OF LIFE, ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS, PROPERTIES DEVALUE & WATER PROTECTION ISSUES.
STATE LAW: CHAPTER 40a Section 3 states: " No zoning ordinance or bylaw shall prohibit or unreasonably regulate the installation of solar energy systems or the building of structures that facilitate the collection of solar energy, except where necessary to protect the public health, safety or welfare"
