Please Restore the Account of our Friend Spunkysmum

Dear Sodahead,

We are unhappy that our friend's account at Sodahead has been marked for permanent termination.

Sodahead is a website that depends on the activity and exposure generated by its members. "spunkysmum" has been a very active member of Sodahead.

She has nearly 900 Sodaheads on her friends list who receive notification of every poll, blog, or news item she shares.

She is also the owner of a number of groups established for various interests and causes, including political causes, and groups to support special interest groups such as people with Attention Deficit Disorder and  creative and artistic people, and lovers of certain kinds of music.  As well as being the owner of a dozen or more groups, Spunkysmum is a member of many more groups, which she participates in as much as she can.

Spunkysmum has been instrumental in reporting abuse on Sodahead that has been shut down very quickly as a result of her requesting help from the many groups she is a member of. In the same way, she has also on several occasions helped round up support for Sodaheads that were despondent and in need of it. 

She has worked diligently to protect the interests of her group members as well, taking group leadership seriously.

She has been helpful in convincing Sodaheads who have considered leaving, to stay.

In making the final decision to terminate Spunkysmum's account, Sodahead will not only be making a poor business decision, but will also be sending a bad message.  That message is that if malicious people scream loud enough in order to try to destroy somebody they hate for no reason but a difference of opinion, Sodahead will listen to them and assist them in their agenda. 

This not only sends the message that Sodahead does not stand for justice, but it also makes remaining good members uneasy, wondering when they will be next to be targeted by these screaming hate groups.

There is already unrest and uneasiness among those many Sodaheads who count themselves in Spunkysmum's circle of friends, and many of these have thought seriously about leaving the site.  Spunkysmum has always tried to convince people to stay when they were thinking about leaving.  If she is gone, there is a possibility that many will follow.

Many people have lost their tempers and posted personal attacks against those they disagree with.  Spunkysmum has tried to refrain from doing this even in retaliation, with a fairly high success rate.  By simply blocking those who attack her, she has managed to avoid conflict.  This has made those who attack her more angry in many cases, but that is their problem.

We respect the process with which Sodahead makes these kinds of decisions.  However we feel that there are many factors here that Sodahead needs to be reminded of in order to have all the information needed to make a final decision in this case.

PLEASE do not delete Spunkysmum's account at this time.  If you must, suspend it, and take some more time to review the matter.  Please consider that Spunkysmum stands to lose a year and a half's worth of personal correspondence, valuable creative property, and other priceless items.  Sodahead holds the power to inflict considerable loss on Spunkysmum's life by deleting this account - power which behooves Sodahead to weigh this decision VERY seriously.
