Special education should not be used for segregation.
Students who do not want to be in special education should not be there. There should be a law not to force students in special ed, it should only be a place to get extra help when needed, and not to segregate students from mainstream. Students with asperger's syndrome feel that their gifts are being wasted when they are in special ed. Forcing these students to be in special ed is like a communist school system in what is supposed to be a free country.
We the undersigned think that it shall be a law that school districts can not force students into special ed classes. No students should be segregated from mainstream, unless they are being taught individually without classmates. It shall be a crime for schools to force parents to agree to special classes that are segregated from mainstream. Thank you for taking time to read this letter.
