Stop unnecessary movie remakes

- mottagare: to encourage producers to use books and comic books as movie material
Too often do the movies out in theatres consist of the same garbage ideas or some horrible remake. Its either a story about badly dubbed speech onto a cute cuddly animal "talking" or it is a remake of a movie we all grew up on as kids. Remakes seem to happen at least 5 times a year, and I say this is way too much. One remake is too much. I have not watched a single remake that was worth watching except Battlestar Gallactica, and that was a TV series. I am reffering to the movies out there such as the remake of the classic "the Producers".
The concept of the remake has failed to deliver on far too many occasions, and with that in mind, I would like to propose that we stop making remakes and invest in turning novels and comicbooks into movies a lot more than we already are. There are thousands of wonderful books out there that would make magnificent movies.
An old book I found just a few months ago would make an awesome movie. It was titled "the star fox" by Poul Anderson. It told the tale of a retired starship captain who took up a life of piracy to save the lives of several thousand captured colonists from an alien race.
If producers picked up comic books and movies and began investing in some of the little known material, there are some really amazing gems out there. The only thing is, people need to stop referring back to the classics that have already been done, and pick up some new ideas, that simply have not. Another suggestion I can make would be a webcomic by the name of "jack". Simply put, it is about the cruelty and joy of life and death. I cant even begin to summarize the rest of the comic because it was simply that expansive.
There are comedies that can be made out of simple ideas, such as spoofing the all famous MMORPG genre. There is currently a short online series called "The guild" that spoofs this genre, and it happens to be very popular.
The mere fact that many producers are completely ignoring the interest in these stories proves that either they don't care what the customer wants... and therefore dont care about not only the money that can be made, but also the impression that the customers have on the studio that is making the production. Or are not thinking hard enough about the possibilities out there and therefore, are completely failing to do their job.
In summary, this petition is a request that the producers of the US Film production industry begin turning more novels and comic books into movies instead or remaking existing movies into films that fail to deliver.
