The NFL, by its terrible handling of the Ray Rice domestic violence case, and a host of other actions, has had a terrible year. If it were a team, it would not have come close to making the playoffs. The actions it has taken to rectify this situation smack of public relations desperation. We need to penalize the NFL in the only way that matters: ratings. Boycott the Super Bowl and send Roger Goodell a message.
Mr. Goodell,
We the undersigned are planning on not watching the Super Bowl this year in protest of your handling of the Ray Rice dmoestic violence case and other actions by the NFL and your office that speak to a callous disregard of basic human rights. Please develop responses that seek to get to real solutions rather than public relations catch-up and spin. If you succeed, perhaps you will win us back. But until then, you will not be able to count on us to build your beloved ratings.
