Gamer's Have Had Enough - Putting Publishers on Notice in 2019

    This year has seen the apex of game companies ripping off gamers, by among other things:

    1. Selling unfinished games at full price
    2. Selling sections of the main content as "extras" and "seasons pass" content
    3. Using micro-transactions to design games from the outset
    4. Deceptive pre-order sales tactics and no refund for deceived customers

    In 2019 big game companies like Activision, Blizzard, EA Bethesda must be put on notice that the gravy train is over. If you want us to buy your games, you must agree to these reasonable customer expectations that would be expected in ANY other industry.

    1. Pre-order sales must be FULLY refundable up to one week after release. Maybe actually finish making your game, and have it be what you advertised it as, and this shouldn't be much of an issue. Only reason to resist (especially with 80%+ of sales being digital) is that your business model depends on deception. If you don't want to issue refunds, don't make garbage products.

    2. Games can EITHER be full price OR micro-transaction dependent, not both. If you release a game at $60, it cannot have micro-transactions up to the end of the first year. Wanna sell loot boxes? Your price is $0. No exceptions. (Can transfer to free-to-play model over time, but not within first year). If I buy the game at $60, you owe me a proper game not part of one.

    3. MOBILE GAMES ARE NOT THE SAME AS PROPER GAMES. Diablo mobile? Sure, put it in the apple store FOR FREE to promote your ACTUAL GAME you plan to release.
