Stop discrimination against LGBT blood donors

When HIV was discovered in 1981, it was thought to be a "gay-only" disease. Due to this misconception, homosexual and bisexual men have been banned from donating blood in many places.

We now know that gay men are no more likely to have HIV than any other donors, yet this ban remains in place. It is especially unneccessary since all blood donated is tested for HIV, among many other medical problems that can be found in blood.

Hospitals are always looking for more donors. People in perfectly good health should not be kept from helping their community because of their sexual orientation.

Put an end to this stigma against the LGBT community. Allow every healthy, willing donor to give their blood to the medical centers that need it.
