Fabricland has been apart of our community for over 20 years. It has given us the supplies and resources to help us do what we love: sewing and quilting. Although Chatham has multiple fabric stores, Fabricland has been our oldest and most reliable source. With the help of the supportive staff and great customer service, this store has helped us with our talents. The closing of this fabric store in Chatham will devastate our community. At least 15 people will lose their jobs, resulting in an increase of struggle in our economy. Chatham is widening our range of stores and our plazas are increasing in size; however, the loss of an anchor like Fabricland will be unsettling. With the increase of our town's variety of outlets, it seems irrelevant to close a store that has such great opportunity in the near future. It is difficult knowing that customers across our region of Chatham-Kent such as Ridgetown, Wallaceburg, Blenheim, Dresden, Bothwell, etc will no longer have a store like Fabricland that is in a relative distance.
I, myself, am an at home business owner that relies on Fabricland. I have been sewing for over 20 years and the lost of Fabricland will be a great loss for my business. I hope that by creating a voice and standing up for this store, we can stop Head Office from making this mistake.
