Gathering the Men Who Support Women

Gentlemen:
Now more than ever, the women in your life need you. They need you to advocate for their rights, their needs and room at the table of influence and decisions.
Women constitute more than half of humanity, yet they are still sadly under-represented in government. They are still subject to humiliating attacks on their human dignity and denied equal representation at the tables of global consequences.
You can make a difference by signing this petition. Now more than ever, the women in your life need your voice.
I am a man who stands for and with my (wife, daughter, sister, aunt and niece ) in letting you know that you will have our support and our vote when you stand with us on the following critical issues.
The women in my life and I call on you to:
Ensure that any panel that makes decisions specific to women has a majority of women from diverse backgrounds.
Reject laws invading women's privacy rights (such as the new laws that women must undergo inhuman invasive procedures when applying for an abortion).
Support:
Bills that promote women’s and children’s health.
The efforts of Planned Parenthood to provide services for women’s health.
The Violence Against Women Act.
Ratification bills for the Equal Rights Amendment.
Finally, as your constituents, we want you to encourage women to run for public office and to appoint or support the appointment of more women to important committees. Women constitute over half of humanity and have a right to legislate on their own behalf. We need more women to be involved in solving the serious problems we all face today.
I call on you to consider the impact your decisions and policies on all life and women specifically.
I encourage you to speak with the women in your life, your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sisters and fellow women legislators to initiate regular an in-depth discussion of women’s concerns.
I invite you to question the social stigma that makes it less likely that women will run for public office and to encourage your women constituents to do so.
I request your understanding and support with the course corrections that will give women a greater percentage of seats at the tables of influence and decision making.
The unlimited ideas and creativity that women bring to any situation is lost when women are not respected and valued. Our country needs their presence as equal partners with men in all walks of life.
