Balmville School has a rich history as it was established nearly 150 years ago, we have the longest-running PTA in the area and an overall great sense of community, and we have lots of green space for our children to use for educational and recreational purposes. Balmville School is a great place for children!
We, the undersigned, do not believe the proposal for closing Balmville School to be in the best interests of the Balmville School students, families, faculty, or staff, nor of the Newburgh Enlarged Central School District (NECSD). We oppose this option completely. Closing Balmville will be detrimental to the educational and developmental success of our children.
We call upon the NECSD Board of Education to reject the closing of Balmville School at their April meeting, and instead, to implement reforms that are guided by solid research and by a vision of public education that offers every child the very best that our district has to offer.
Please, put our children first! Keep Balmville School open!
