The Glass Ceiling has been a long standing issue, part of women's fight for equality. Part of this issue includes the wage gap. In Connecticut for every dollar men make, women make 78 cents. As a result of this wage gap, women in the US work 59 days for free. We may not be able to change the larger issue, but in signing this petition, we can make a change in our state. Dear Governor Malloy,
I am writing to you to bring to your attention the wage gap in Connecticut. As of 2014, for every dollar that men make, women make 78 cents. There is no reason that women should be treated any less than men, especially for doing the same job. This is not a new issue, and it is about time we take action to close the gap. I have the signatures of 100 people that agree with me that action needs to be taken.
