Demand Harsher Prison Sentences for Rapists Like Drayton Dwayne Preston

A man, Drayton Dwayne Preston raped a 17-year-old girl THREE times, videotaped the rape and pictures of her genitalia on Facebook. For his multiple crimes he received a MERE 26 MONTH prison sentence. Other rapists in Canada often receive similar, and sometimes shorter, sentences. Yet, the victims of rape often experience a lifetime of trauma, sexually-transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancy, and other emotional and physical distress. This is unacceptable and needs to change. It suggests an underlying misogyny within the Canadian legal system since the organization Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN) indicates 90% of rapes are crimes against females.
