Demand and end to questioning the values of western civilization

I am fed up of trying to remove statues of Colombo and other icons of our culture, for me Colombo was and will be always an hero. We cannot judge an adventurer and sailor of the XVI century with the eyes of today.
If we go this way the Central and South America ancient cultures were savages who killed hundreds of men and women in their rituals.
Western civilization shaped the actual world and I am very proud of their values, we never killed people in rituals, we do not eat dogs like the Chinese and above all we invented democracy, which in the words of sir Winston Churchill, " democracy is the worst form of government except for all others"
