Google has switched from Windows to Linux because, Linux is an open-source operating system that is an alternative to Microsoft Windows.

Microsoft has claimed updates for Windows can fix some problems. But some updates can be defective by design. The Free Software Foundation has condemned use of Microsoft Windows as unsafe, and it can be subjected to malware. Nobody wants their machines to be infected with viruses, worms, trojans, etc.
I use to have a Windows Netbook, I've enjoyed writing books on it, and surfing the internet.
One problem is; I have to use expensive anti-malware programs to protect my netbook.
Windows has been built with DRM everywhere. But DRM is subjected to collect malware overtime, including rootkits.
Once the computer has stopped working, including the Windows operating system; the machine is discarded, end up at the landfills,--causing inpact to our environment.
All of the claims what Microsoft written for updating windows, and their help articles are nothing but a broken pane, and a shattered lie!
Switching from Windows to Linux is the only to save lots of computers from being end up in the dump.
Once you switched from Windows to Linux, out the window went Windows.
Currently, I'm using a Chromebook, it's closer to linux.
