Canada Step Up for Native Women Now!

Canada has failed its indigenous women, says a new United Nations report. From 1980 to 2012, 1,017 native women have been murdered. And another 164 indigenous women have quietly gone missing without a second thought. When asked about the murdered, sexually assaulted and missing native women, you, Mr. Harper responded that the cause "isn’t really high on our radar, to be honest.” But the United Nations' CEDAW report shows that it needs to be.

Native women's bodies have been burdened for over five centuries -- when is this going to end? Canada has already paved the way for many things, and it's time for Canada to stop the murders, sexual assaults and disappearances of native women. The UN's CEDAW report shows that something needs to be done. And Canada can start with a national inquiry.
