Restore Funding to Post Seceondary Institustions

In June of 2015, the Alberta PC Government announced funding cuts to the Post Secondary Institutions including GPRC. This resulted in the Transitional Vocational Program being shut down for the first time in it's 50 year history. The program teaches adults with learning disabilities to cook, clean, budget their money and solve problems with roommates. They also teach independent life skills such as shopping, volunteering and community involvement. They require each student to join a community involvement group to participate in once a week.

As a past graduate (2013) I immediately felt saddened at the news. I have learned a lot from the instructors, co-workers (at my work practicum) This program put me in a great position to be successful at life. The friendships that I made while at college still remain in place today.

We as a class are asking for Joe Ceci, to restore funding to Post Secondary Institutions & Don Gnatiuk, to allocate that money into restarting the Transitional Vocational Program. The program's students don't pay tuition. That is all taken care of by their funding organizations.
