"If you take out a loan, you pay it back. Period."

That's what many Republican House and Senate members have told struggling people with student loan debt. Thousands of former students who attended for-profit schools (ITT Tech, University of Phoenix, DeVry, Grand Canyon, etc.) were lied to during enrollment. They were told fake numbers of post-graduate job opportunities, high graduation rates, and supportive career resources contact and assistance, but they were never educated on the high cost of the loans they would eventually be faced with. Rates that increase with inflation for private loans. The lack of internships available during their schooling. The fact is that for-profit schools are businesses with only profit as their priority, and there shouldn't be a doubt that many Republicans are being paid off to nix Biden's cancellation efforts.

If we have to pay back our loans, they should pay back their Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans. A sitting member of government should be stripped of the financial protection of their private businesses. The money they were given must be collected by the government and redistributed into programs for the people. Tell Republicans they can no longer be hypocrites - if I have to pay my loans, so should you.
