African-American Reparations

"Ever since 1950, I've been on the trail fighting for reparations. They owe us more than they could pay." -Queen Mother Moore (Audley Moore), 1898-1997 N'CORBA

To address the terrible
human and economic costs of slavery and racial injustice in the United States, reparations must be paid to African-Americans.

" In 1887, ex-slaves began petitioning the federal government for pensions and compensation for the years they had labored without wages before abolition. When Congress ignored their thousands of petitions, they tried to sue for wage theft but were told they could not." -Mary Frances Berry

The question before us remains: Should there be a reparation, a re-dress, an atonement for past wrong doings? As African-American descendants of that inhumane system of bondage, in the end, this single challenging question can only be answered by us, following careful study, reflection and deliberation. Life is a good deal like truth or consequences. When we tell ourselves the truth about life, we are better prepared to handle the consequences.

In keeping with the valiant brother & sisters of 1887, let's renew our request. That said, following your study of issue, we hope, in support of requesting President Barack Obama to establish a Commission on Reparation, you will be committed to signing this partition.

Sign this petition today to tell the President that Reparations for African-Americans is an agenda whose time is long over due!
