DON'T use OUR tuition to PAD your pockets!!

Our area was recently declared a disaster after a powerful storm system came through southeast Texas dumping nearly 40 inches of rain over the course of 5 days. Due to this natural disaster a lot of residents lost their homes and other personal belongings. Some areas were without electricity for several days as the city was without clean drinking water for nearly 10 days. There were many parents that were unable to return to work due to the storm. Some were able to report to work only to find other means of child care for their children. The school districts were closed for a couple of weeks including Redeemer Lutheran Children's Center. This indeed was a financial hardship for us all, some more than others.
Redeemer Lutheran Children's Center, RLCC, was closed on the following dates August 28th- September 8th WITHOUT services rendered. The students and faculty returned to the premises on September 11th. On September 15th, the decision was made by the board of directors to waive the fees for the week of August 28th BUT will charge for the week of September 4th or parents were given the choice to use one of the two weeks of vacation time. It is an insult that the board would consider one of these weeks a vacation, with so many having lost everything.
On behalf of myself and other parents, WE do not feel this is a fair gesture and there should be no fees paid since there was NO SERVICES RENDERED! This was a declared disaster that affected many parents and staff of the school. Why place another financial burden especially when services were not provided.
Let’s band together to make a difference in changing the minds of the board of directors!
