Athletic Hair Policy Abolishment

Gallatin High School has a rule against athletes that doesn't allow them to express themselves the way other students do that aren't under this rule. The rule doesn't allow athletes to grow out their hair.  This is a rule that has been in place for decades. It's said to be linked to winning, but our athletic teams have proven that is not the case. We face opponents who have the freedom to grow out their hair and frankly they usually get close to beating if not beating our athletic teams. One example is our first football game versus Mount Juliet resulted in a loss, and believe it or not their quarterback had long hair, but they still performed as someone with short hair. This is just one example of many that prove hair is not linked to success. If our principals want us to succeed they need to quit plaguing the athletic teams about our haircuts and worry about our performance on and off the field/court.
