Jeff Sessions: Refuse Trump's Order To Obstruct Mueller's Work. Stay Recused From The Trump-Russia Investigation!

Immediately upon hearing that Robert Mueller wants to ask Trump obstruction of justice-related questions, the president took to Twitter today to demand that Attorney General Jeff Sessions fire the special counselor. Sessions, for his part, recused himself from overseeing the investigation in March of 2017, a legal necessity given his contacts with the Russian ambassador to the United States during the transition.

"Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further," Trump tweeted.

Not only would it be exceedingly inappropriate for Sessions to take any action in matters about which he has an obvious conflict of interest, but to go so far as to fire Mueller in the midst of an investigation that has thus far resulted in a staggering 191 criminal charges against 35 defendants is beyond inexcusable.

Sessions must not cave to the self-serving whims of the desperate president. If he truly cares about justice as he claims, then he will allow this necessary, legal, and fruitful probe to run its course.

Trump would also be well served to curb his Twitter attacks, as Mueller is reportedly also looking at his tweets to determine if he has obstructed justice. His demands, then, to end the investigation as it nears ever closer to him are only further evidence of that crime.

Add your name to demand Sessions remain recused. Doing otherwise would risk implicating himself in a probe that is likely to not only end his political career, but put him squarely in the crosshairs of an ongoing investigation.
