Demand FCPS REMOVES Scary & Horror stories from myOn for Elementary Schools

The so called, educational tool, myOn is being used in FCPS schools K-12. The resource has a section called Scary and Horror Stories. These stories are recommended for as young as 1st grade and contain HORRIFIC, VIOLENT, and GRUESOME stories about murders, deaths, ghosts, and afterlife issues. FCPS currently has no restriction on this and children can access and be exposed to these AWFUL images and stories within school walls. This is CHILD ABUSE! May is Mental Health Awareness month and it is time we stand up to protect our children's young minds from these APPALLING images and stories. Plenty of evidence based research shows that early exposure to violent and horrific images and ideas can be one possible cause of mental health issues and possible suicidal or homicidal thoughts in older children.
