Increased recess time in Nebo School District elementary schools

We, the parents of Nebo School District, are petitioning the school board for increased recess time to our elementary school day.
We would like to see recess time doubled to two in the morning and two in the afternoon with lunch recess occurring before lunchtime.

Research is showing that schools with increased recess time, is linked to a host of favorable student outcomes, from attendance to achievement. Many teachers report less behavioral issues in the classroom as well as students finishing work more accurately in a shorter amount of time.

Because we are in Utah and the weather is unpredictable, we would like to see some funding for additional pay for teachers to conduct physical activities during recess time in poor weather.
