Gibson County TN Juvenile Court Excessive Punishment

Gibson County Juvenile Court in TN has some major issues with abusing power and unfairly and excessively punishing our youth. Mark Johnson and Susan Featherstone are literally locking up these kids and throwing away the key. No matter the charge. I have seen teens do a year in lock up over first offense misdemeanor non violent charges. They do not allow they teens to have home passes like all other counties do. The Gibson County kids are locked up, watch all other residents in the juvenile detention center earn passes to go home for weekends while they are doing everything that is required of them and never get a home pass, locked up for extreme excessive amounts of time, children placed in DCS custody and never allowed to go back home (placed in foster care) when they finally do get released from the detention center until they are 18 years old. Mark Johnson does not show compassion for our youth and tends to turn what is a good kid that made ONE bad decision, into a criminal because the child feels abandoned and alone and can not be forgiven for a mistake. Something has to change for the sake of our youth.
