Stricter Penalties for Pedophiles

Convicted pedophiles are currently given equal opportunity to education (ie. GED) as a convicted summary offense offender in Canada. Alongside their counterparts, they are also allowed the same freedoms and rights within the justice system (ie. common area socializing, hot coffee, television, playing cards, outdoor allotment).
This crime against the most vulnerable of humanity should be penalized to a much greater degree than common theft.
Considering the Mens Rea and deplorable Actus Reus involved, the only grace ought to be allowed to these perpetrators is psychiatric counseling behind bars and basic necessities of life. Once their minimum time served of 7 years, they are not to be within 2 km of any elementary school or hold any position with access to children, ever. It is currently too easy to acquire a position within the Vulnerable Sector. (4 years for teaching degree, grade 12 for Education Assistant-popular in elementary schools). Not only should a convicted pedophile NEVER be employed in any capacity around children, their identity should be made known to the immediate community in which they choose to live; solely for the protection of the communities' children. For the offenders' protection, they should be segregated while serving their (much lengthier) time, receive psychiatric counseling (think prescription for permanent impotence and decreased libido) and be employed post-sentence by respective city, cleaning gutters and septic tanks, by hand, away from children.
