Demand a longer summer break for our children!

There isn't a reason that school should start back when we have the hottest days in August. More money will be spent cooling the schools. It would make more sense to go back around the 22nd or 23rd and not have a fall break. The working parents already have child care set up for the summer. Why stop it and have to turn right back around and put them back in child care? This doesn't allow for all families to take off time for work for a family vacation. Most people are trying to squeeze in time for a vacation and not even able to enjoy family time. I have heard rumors that the school systems don't want the kids to forget what they have learned by being out too long. Don't you think that starting school snd then stopping it in 2 months for a week is a distraction after they just got back into their routine? Yes, lets make parents have to pay for child care in October when it is time to start buying winter clothes! Not very smart!! These children are not robots! Our lives are already fast paced enough. Stop pushing that lifestyle on the children! I have also heard that it gives them longer to prepare for the test at the end of the year. Not buying that! If they didn't have fall break that would make up for the time. There is a problem with the end of year testing anyway. So ridiculous! Think about common sense! What is the logical thing to do?
