Tell Australian Religious Leader -- Opposing Equality IS Discrimination!

Reverend David Jones, leader of Australia's Presbyterian Church, believes that Christians who are against marriage equality are not being discriminatory.

He said that discussion about same-sex marriage often includes how making marriage equality a reality would end discrimination against same-sex couples who right now, in Australia, cannot legally marry under federal law. He believes that opposing gay marriage, "at least from the church perspective," has nothing to do with discrimination.

The inequality that the LGBT community faces is discrimination -- and it concerns a lot more than just marriage equality, including access to jobs, housing, protection from violence, and much more.

Please tell Reverend David Jones that opposing equality is discrimination!

Dear Reverend David Jones,

I am writing to you today concerning comments you made about the LGBT community, Christians, and discrimination.

You said that -- from a church perspective -- opposing gay marriage has nothing to do with discrimination. However, opposing equality is discrimination, and it has to do with a lot more than just marriage equality, including protection from violence, access to jobs and housing, and much more.
