Kids and teens are on their phones and on the internet a lot, but do we really know what they are doing? Well one thing that is happening is cyberbullying. People are pretending to be another person, writing mean and hurtful comments to others, harassing people, and spreading rumors about each other. Cyberbullying occurs on many social media websites, but according to a survey taken by students, the website it occurs most on is ask.fm.
Being cyber bullied can truly leave a scar in someone's life. It can even end some teens lives. 20% of teens that are cyberbullied think about suicide and 1 in 10 attempt it. What If that was your child, brother, sister, friend, or family member? If you are thinking that your child hasn't told you they are being bullied online, consider that 1 in 6 parents don't know when their child is being cyber bullied.
