This woman operated a licensed daycare where my 5 month old grandson was murdered. She stuck an Ambien (prescription sleep medication for adults only) in his mouth up by his gum so he could not spit it out. She then took him upstairs and stuck him in a pack-n-play in a storage room, where she left him to die. After confirming he was dead, she did not call 911 for help. Instead she and her husband got rid of all evidence and staged the house to look like the baby was downstairs. This woman, Ruthann Kay Jarvis, is set for parole on 2/3/14. She has only been in prison for 6 years. Little Damien would be 7 years old today.
We oppose the parole of Ruthann Kay Jarvis. She ran a daycare where she kept the babies drugged on Benadryl so they would sleep all day. For some reason she decided to give my 5 month old grandson an adult sleeping pill, Ambien. She then stuck him in a pack-n-play which was in an upstairs storage room, and left him to die there, all alone.
Instead of calling 911 when Damien Lewis was discovered dead, she awoke her husband and told him what happened. Together they destroyed any evidence and staged the house to look "normal." THEN she called 911.
When asked by her son about the other kids in the daycare, she replied that she didn't care about any of them.
Ruthann Kay Jarvis is scheduled for only two years on probation. At that time it is felt that she may try to open an unlicensed childcare facility in her home. She is a very lazy woman who will look for the easiest way to make a living. What's easier than drugging babies so they don't disturb you?
